Volvo EX40

The EX40 is built on the CMA platform, meaning it shares its rugged, boxy bones with the petrol XC40. For 2026, the transition to the "EX" naming convention brings subtle refinements, including a more efficient rear-drive motor for the base models and an optional Performance software pack for the Twin Motor AWD version that boosts power significantly.

Single Motor Extended Range (RWD): Produces 252 hp and 420 Nm of torque. This version was recently updated from FWD to RWD to provide better balance and towing capability. Twin Motor (AWD): The high-performance choice, delivering a standard 408 hp and 670 Nm of torque. New Performance Pack: For 2026, AWD buyers can opt for a power boost that raises the output to 442 hp, specifically designed to improve throttle response for highway overtaking on the E11.     Acceleration: The Twin Motor variant is incredibly quick, reaching 0–100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds, while the RWD version takes 7.3 seconds.

Battery: Most UAE models are equipped with the 82 kWh (79 kWh usable) battery pack. Range (WLTP): Single Motor: Up to 570 km. Twin Motor: Up to 535 km. UAE Context: Expect a real-world range of 400–450 km during the summer months when the dual-zone climate control is working hard. Charging: Supports 205 kW DC fast charging. You can charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 28 minutes at a high-speed station.     Home Charging: An 11 kW AC charger (standard in many UAE villas) will provide a 0–100% charge in about 8 hours.
