Privacy & Policy
1. Scope and purpose
This Privacy Policy explains how Drive EV collects, uses, shares, stores and otherwise processes personal data relating to users of the Platform. It is drafted for a UAE-operated EV discovery and lead-routing platform and is intended to support transparency under the UAE Personal Data Protection Law framework.
2. Categories of personal data we collect
We may collect the following categories of personal data, depending on how you use the Platform: identification and contact details (such as name, email address, phone number and city, Emirate); account credentials; vehicle preferences; budget range; trade-in details; finance and insurance interests; fleet or business-use information; chat content; uploaded documents or attachments; communications history; and information you provide in forms, surveys, booking requests, concierge requests or support enquiries.
3. Behavioural, preference and interaction data
Because Drive EV operates as a buyer-intelligence platform, we also collect interaction data such as vehicles viewed, pages visited, searches performed, filters applied, comparisons made, leads opened, clicks, dwell time, scroll depth, buttons used, forms started or abandoned, wishlists or saved items, referrals, campaign source, chat questions, recommendation-path choices, calendar selections, and similar engagement signals. We may analyse these signals to infer likely purchase intent, product fit, timing, budget alignment, use case, and dealer relevance.
4. Technical data
We may collect technical and device-level data such as IP address, approximate location derived from IP, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, cookie identifiers, session logs, crash data and similar usage diagnostics.
5. Sensitive data
Drive EV does not intend to collect special or sensitive categories of personal data unless clearly necessary and lawfully permitted. Please do not submit medical, biometric, precise government ID, or other sensitive information unless specifically requested through a secure and lawful process. Where sensitive information is genuinely required for a particular service, we will seek any additional permissions that may be needed.
6. How we use personal data
We use personal data to operate the Platform; create and manage accounts; provide comparisons, recommendations and saved journeys; respond to enquiries; connect users with relevant dealers or partners; personalise content; measure campaign performance; improve product design; train and tune our recommendation and routing logic; prevent fraud and abuse; provide customer support; comply with legal obligations; and establish, exercise or defend legal claims where necessary.
7. Profiling, lead scoring and routing
Drive EV may use personal data and behavioural signals to profile likely buyer intent and interest areas, score enquiries, rank relevance, segment audiences, and route a user or lead to one or more dealers or EV industry partners more likely to satisfy the user’s stated or inferred requirements. Drive EV does not promise that profiling or scoring will always be accurate, complete or suitable for every user.
8. Legal bases
Where required by law, Drive EV relies on one or more lawful bases for processing, including your consent, the need to perform a requested service or take steps at your request before entering into a transaction, compliance with legal obligations, and legitimate interests such as improving the Platform, securing systems, understanding audience behaviour, preventing misuse, and measuring or enhancing relevant lead-matching performance, provided that such interests are not overridden by applicable legal rights.
9. Sharing of personal data
We may share personal data with: participating vehicle dealers, distributors, manufacturers or brand partners; lenders, leasing providers, insurers and warranty/service-plan providers; logistics or test-drive partners; communications and CRM providers; analytics, advertising and measurement providers; cloud hosting, security and support providers; professional advisers; competent authorities where legally required; and prospective buyers or investors in connection with a corporate transaction, subject to appropriate confidentiality and legal safeguards.
10. What we may share with dealers and EV industry partners
If you create an account and submit an enquiry or otherwise request follow-up, the data shared may include your contact details, account information, location, vehicle interests, timeline, budget range, trade-in or financing interest, engagement history and relevant behavioural or intent signals that help the receiving partner understand why you may be a suitable prospect. For example, this can include which vehicles you viewed, what you compared, what filters you used, what questions you asked in chat, and how recently or intensely you interacted with relevant content, to the extent reasonably relevant to the enquiry and permitted by law.
11. Marketing, analytics and audience measurement
With your consent where required, Drive EV and selected partners may use your data to send updates, offers, launch notices, newsletters, event invitations, product information, or tailored advertising. We also use analytics tools and advertising technologies to measure traffic, conversions, attribution, audience quality, remarketing effectiveness and product performance.
12. Cookies and similar technologies
Drive EV uses cookies, SDKs, pixels, tags and similar technologies as described in the Cookie Policy. These may support account management, analytics, ad measurement, remarketing, and recognition of returning users. Non-essential technologies should be subject to appropriate consent choices.
13. Data retention
We keep personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy, including account administration, lead management, analytics, dispute handling, legal compliance and record-keeping. Retention periods may vary by data type, system and legal requirement. We may retain de-identified or aggregated information for longer where permitted.
14. International transfers
Your personal data may be stored or processed in the UAE and in other countries where our hosting, CRM, analytics, messaging, support or partner systems operate. Where cross-border transfers occur, Drive EV will take steps intended to implement appropriate safeguards consistent with applicable law and the sensitivity of the data.
15. Security
Drive EV uses reasonable technical, contractual and organisational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, loss or misuse. However, no system can be guaranteed to be fully secure, and users should also protect their credentials and devices.
16. Your rights and choices
Subject to applicable law and any lawful exceptions, you may request access to your personal data, correction of inaccurate information, deletion, restriction or objection to certain processing, withdrawal of consent where consent is the basis, or information about how your data is processed. You may also opt out of marketing communications using the unsubscribe tools provided or by contacting us.
17. Contact and complaints
To exercise privacy rights or raise a complaint, contact: operations@drive-ev.ae. We may need to verify your identity before actioning a request. If we cannot fully satisfy a request, we will explain the reason subject to applicable law.
18. Updates to this Privacy Policy
We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version will be posted on the Platform with the updated effective date.
