The cabin is typically Germanic in its angular design with a high-quality, well-damped feel to all main controls and minor switchgear. The upright driver seating position in particular creates a sense of power and authority, similar to the command position favoured by Land Rover products. The 1970s-style exterior design and relatively small size compared to segment rivals mean that the G580 features only acceptable levels of rear passenger accommodation. Up to five passengers can be accommodated but four would be ideal, with a high floor leading to a knees-up seating position that would be uncomfortable over longer journeys. The low roof makes the second row unsuitable for passengers over six feet tall. As the G580 needs to accommodate the large battery pack and the body-on-frame off-road chassis, there is no third row available. On highways, the G580 rides well, though the tall and narrow body mean body roll can be felt at higher cornering speeds. The G580 features standard steel springs and coilover shocks with adaptive damping. These can assist in tamping down excessive body movement on road or provide a stiffer ride off-road. The standard electric steering offers lightweight and accurate control but little road feedback. Good standard insulation counteracts the boxy upright styling of the G580 to provide a quiet interior at highway speeds of up to 120 km/h, with almost no tyre noise detectable.

The G580 includes five Dynamic Select programmes which can alter a variety of systems on the fly including suspension damping, throttle input, and traction and stability control.
