Leapmotor C16

The C16 is the flagship of Leapmotor’s "LEAP 3.5" architecture. For 2026, it introduces a new 5-seater configuration alongside the popular 6-seater (2+2+2) layout. In the UAE, it is gaining traction for its standard inclusion of high-end hardware—like LiDAR—which many competitors only offer on top-tier trims.

BEV (Battery Electric): Features a rear-mounted motor producing 292 hp and 360 Nm of torque. It feels smooth and sufficiently powerful for highway cruising.     EREV (Extended Range): Combines a 1.5L petrol generator with a 231 hp electric motor. The engine never drives the wheels directly; it only charges the battery.     Acceleration: The BEV version hits 0–100 km/h in approximately 6.4 seconds, while the EREV is slightly more relaxed at 8.4 seconds. Chassis: New for 2026 is the FSD (Frequency Selective Damping) adaptive suspension, which significantly improves ride comfort over the uneven desert roads and speed bumps common in suburban areas.

BEV Range: Equipped with an 81.9 kWh battery, it offers a 630 km CLTC range. In the UAE summer, expect roughly 480–520 km.     EREV Range: Features a total combined range of 1,150 km, with a pure electric range of 280 km. This makes it an ideal choice for those who frequently drive between Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Ras Al Khaimah.     800V High-Voltage Platform: The BEV model supports ultra-fast charging, allowing for a 30% to 80% charge in about 15 minutes.

The "Starship" Cabin: The interior is dominated by a 14.6-inch 2.5K central screen powered by the Qualcomm 8295 chip.     Rear Cinema Mode: 6-seater models feature a 15.6-inch drop-down ceiling screen for rear passengers, paired with a 21-speaker PSS sound system and Dolby Atmos.     One-Click Bed Mode: In the new 5-seater version, the rear seats can recline electrically to 140°, creating a flat 1.8-meter-long bed—perfect for "glamping" or resting during long trips.     Onboard Refrigerator: An 8.1-liter fridge is integrated into the central armrest, capable of keeping drinks chilled during 40°C+ summer days.

Standard LiDAR: Uniquely, the C16 comes standard with LiDAR across the lineup, supporting NAP (Navigation Assisted Pilot) for hands-free highway driving.     Dual AI Voice: For 2026, the voice assistant integrates DeepSeek and Tongyi Qianwen models, allowing for much more natural, conversational commands in multiple languages/dialects.     Smart Storage: Includes 50W wireless phone charging and a hidden tray table for second-row passengers to use as a mobile office or dining area.

Price: The C16 is exceptionally competitive, typically ranging from AED 90,000 to AED 115,000 depending on the configuration and import specifications. Warranty: Many dealers in the UAE (such as those in Al Quoz and Ras Al Khor) offer a 5-year/150,000 km warranty, with some providing extended battery coverage. Availability: While Leapmotor is expanding its official global footprint with Stellantis, most C16 models in the UAE are currently available through specialized EV showrooms.
