Overview
Families who want a spacious, comfortable EV that feels like a "normal" SUV inside.
Drivers who prioritize the latest in-car software and massive screen real estate.
Those who want easy access to the Tesla charging network without buying a Tesla.
iPhone or Android users who are strictly loyal to CarPlay or Android Auto.
People who need a "frunk" (the Equinox EV does not have front storage).
Drivers looking for a small, nimble city car (this is a full-sized compact SUV)
Overview
The Equinox EV is larger and more premium than the Bolt, designed to be a primary family car. In the UAE, it is being launched with a focus on the "RS" trim, featuring sporty black accents and a high-tech cabin. It offers a smooth, quiet ride that prioritizes comfort and efficiency over raw, aggressive speed.
Engine and Performance
FWD Model: Features a single front motor producing 213 hp and 320 Nm of torque. This is the efficiency-focused version.
AWD Model: Uses a dual-motor setup for a combined 300 hp, providing much better traction and a punchier feel when merging onto the highway.
Acceleration: The AWD variant hits 0–100 km/h in roughly 6.0 seconds, while the FWD version takes about 7.9 seconds.
Real-World Range & Charging
Battery: Uses an 85 kWh Ultium battery pack.
Range: Estimated at up to 513 km (GSO/WLTP). In the UAE summer, real-world range will likely hover around 420–450 km per charge.
Charging: It supports 150 kW DC fast charging. You can add roughly 110 km of range in just 10 minutes at a fast charger.
NACS Port: 2026 models come with a native NACS port, giving you direct access to the Tesla Supercharger network.
Cabin Comfort and Practicality
The Screen: The star of the interior is the standard 17.7-inch diagonal touchscreen, which is one of the largest in its class and slightly angled toward the driver.
Space: It seats five adults comfortably. The flat floor creates a massive amount of legroom in the second row.
Storage: The boot offers roughly 800 liters of space, which expands to over 1,600 liters with the rear seats folded. There is also a dual-height cargo floor for hidden storage.
Infotainment and Tech
Google Built-In: The system features native Google Maps, Google Assistant, and the Play Store. Note that like the Bolt, it does not support Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, relying instead on its integrated Google ecosystem.
Super Cruise: Available on higher trims, this allows for hands-free driving on many of the UAE's major mapped highways.
Safety: Every model comes with Chevy Safety Assist, which includes Intersection Emergency Braking and Blind Zone Steering Assist.
Dealer Warranty and Service (Al Ghandi / Bin Hamoodah)
Warranty: Typically includes a 3-year/100,000 km bumper-to-bumper warranty.
Battery Warranty: The Ultium battery is covered for 8 years or 160,000 km.
Service: Al Ghandi and Bin Hamoodah offer "Complete Care" packages. Since there are no oil changes, service visits are quick and primarily involve checking the coolant systems for the battery and tire rotations.
