Toyota and Panasonic’s joint venture has begun mass production of solid-state batteries at a new facility in Osaka, Japan. The batteries promise 2x the energy density of conventional lithium-ion cells with significantly faster charging times.
The first vehicles equipped with solid-state batteries are expected to reach showrooms by early 2027.
