Lucid Gravity

The Touring variant uses an 89 kWh (gross) NMC battery, while the Grand Touring carries a substantially larger 123 kWh pack. Both use Panasonic Energy 2170 cylindrical NMC cells, co-developed specifically for Lucid's 926V architecture. The high-voltage platform — among the highest in production — enables exceptional charging speeds and energy efficiency. Cell-level energy density exceeds 800 Wh/L, contributing to the Gravity's class-leading range despite its 2,500+ kg mass.

The Grand Touring's 748 km WLTP figure translates to approximately 560–635 km in real-world UAE conditions — comfortably the longest range of any SUV in the market. The Touring at 542 km WLTP delivers approximately 405–460 km. Both variants cover Abu Dhabi–Dubai–Abu Dhabi round trips without charging. The Grand Touring's range is sufficient for Abu Dhabi–Al Ain–Fujairah inter-emirate routes on a single charge. The Gravity features a 19.2 kW bi-directional onboard charger. On a compatible high-power wall box, the Touring reaches full in approximately 5.5 hours and the Grand Touring in approximately 7.5 hours. At DEWA's residential rate of AED 0.23/kWh, a full Grand Touring charge costs approximately AED 28.29. In Abu Dhabi at the expatriate ADDC rate of AED 0.27/kWh, the cost is AED 33.21. The 19.2 kW charger is among the fastest AC systems available, reducing home charging time significantly versus 11 kW competitors.

The Grand Touring charges at up to 405 kW — the fastest DC charging speed of any production SUV — adding approximately 320 km of range in 15 minutes. The 926V architecture includes Lucid's proprietary voltage-boosting technology, which enables the rear drive unit to boost 500V charger output to match the pack voltage. The Touring peaks at 300 kW. The Gravity accommodates five or seven passengers across two or three rows. The second row folds flat, and the optional third row seats two adults — genuine usability rather than token-only space, aided by the 3,035 mm wheelbase. Premium leather, ambient lighting, and a panoramic glass roof are standard. The cabin reflects Lucid's design philosophy: minimalist surfaces anchored by the sweeping 34-inch OLED display. The 34-inch curved 6K OLED display floats above the dashboard, delivering navigation, media, vehicle data, and camera feeds across a single unbroken screen. Below it, a 12.6-inch Pilot Panel handles climate, drive mode, and secondary controls. The driving position is elevated and commanding, consistent with a full-size SUV, while the air suspension adjusts ride height for ingress and egress. The steering column adjusts for rake and reach.

Multi-zone climate control cools the three-row cabin from above 55°C to a comfortable temperature rapidly. Remote pre-cooling via the Lucid app is standard. The air suspension's ability to lower the vehicle at speed improves aerodynamic efficiency, which in turn reduces the energy draw of the climate system at motorway speeds. With all seven seats in place, the Gravity offers 603 litres behind the third row — generous for a three-row SUV. Folding the third row expands this to 1,591 litres; folding all rear seats opens up to 3,170 litres. The 226-litre frunk beneath the bonnet is large enough for a full weekend bag and is the biggest frunk in the segment. The 34-inch 6K OLED curved display is the centrepiece — the highest-resolution screen in any production vehicle. Arabic language support is available on GCC-spec units, consistent with Lucid's Saudi Arabian roots. Voice recognition, built-in navigation, and over-the-air updates are standard. DreamDrive — Lucid's ADAS suite — uses up to 32 sensors including LiDAR, four radar units, five cameras, and 12 ultrasonic sensors, processed for highway assist, AEB (vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists, motorcyclists), automatic emergency steering, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure protection, and child presence detection. An active bonnet provides additional pedestrian protection. Euro NCAP awarded five stars with 83% adult, 93% child, 80% vulnerable road users, and 85% safety assist. The Gravity drives with a composure and refinement that its 2,500+ kg mass belies. The dual-motor AWD system delivers torque seamlessly, and the air suspension isolates occupants from road imperfections with limousine-like calm. The 926V powertrain is whisper-quiet. Wind noise at 120 km/h is remarkably low for a vehicle of this size, attributable to the 0.24 Cd profile and acoustic glass.

The Touring dispatches 0–100 km/h in 4.2 seconds with 560 hp and 1,100 Nm — rapid for a seven-seat SUV weighing over 2,500 kg. The Grand Touring at 3.6 seconds with 828 hp and 1,232 Nm enters supercar territory. Top speed is limited to 250 km/h on both variants. Overtaking at motorway speeds is effortless and instantaneous. The Gravity accelerates with the authority of a vehicle half its weight.

Regenerative braking is strong and well-calibrated. One-pedal driving is available. The mass of the vehicle — approaching 2,700 kg for the Grand Touring — demands serious braking hardware, and the Gravity delivers confident stopping power. The regenerative system recovers meaningful energy in stop-start traffic, contributing to the impressive real-world range figures.

DreamDrive provides Level 2 highway assist with adaptive cruise, lane centring, and automatic lane change with indicator input. The LiDAR-equipped sensor suite provides higher-fidelity object detection than camera-only systems. The system handles well-marked UAE motorways reliably and manages stop-and-go traffic with minimal driver intervention. No Level 3 autonomous capability is offered at the time of writing.

Double-wishbone front and multi-link rear suspension with air springs and electronically controlled dampers provide a composed, planted feel through direction changes. The air suspension adjusts ride height for aerodynamic efficiency at motorway speeds and increases ground clearance for rougher surfaces. Body roll is well-managed for a vehicle of this size. The 5,034 mm length and 11.7 m turning radius require attention in tighter multi-storey car parks — the 360-degree camera system is essential.

Over the UAE's predominantly smooth urban roads, the Gravity rides with exceptional calm. The air suspension absorbs expansion joints, speed bumps, and rough patches without transmitting secondary disturbances to the cabin. Rear-seat passengers — in both second and third rows — experience refinement comparable to luxury sedans. Ground clearance of 178 mm is adequate for standard UAE roads and light unpaved surfaces but not for serious off-road work.

Lucid covers the Gravity with a four-year or 80,000 km basic vehicle warranty, an eight-year or 160,000 km battery and powertrain warranty (including a 70% capacity retention guarantee), and a ten-year unlimited-kilometre corrosion warranty. Service is handled through Lucid's own facilities in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, with mobile service units for minor repairs. The Saudi Arabian manufacturing base in King Abdullah Economic City provides regional parts availability advantages unique among luxury EV brands. Annual BEV servicing is estimated at AED 2,000–4,000.

North American-spec Lucid Gravity units use the NACS charging connector — incompatible with the UAE's CCS2 public charging infrastructure without adapters. Software features, DreamDrive ADAS capability, and over-the-air updates may be region-locked. Insurance on grey imports attracts 15–25% loading. Government EV incentives — free Salik tag, green parking, reduced registration fees — apply to officially registered vehicles. The 19.2 kW onboard charger reduces home charging dwell time versus 11 kW competitors.
