2025 Jetour T2 i-DM Review UAE
Battery Spec
Two lithium iron
phosphate (LFP) battery options are offered: 26.7 kWh for the FWD Standard and
Comfort trims, and 43.2 kWh for the 4WD Flagship and Ultra. Both use
cell-to-pack (CTP) architecture, which improves energy density and thermal
stability — meaningful advantages in UAE ambient temperatures exceeding 50°C.
Real-World Range
The 26.7 kWh FWD
variants claim ~95 km WLTP electric range; in UAE summer conditions with full
AC load, expect 75–85 km. The 43.2 kWh 4WD variants claim ~160 km WLTP,
translating to approximately 130–145 km in real-world UAE driving. Combined
petrol-electric range reaches approximately 800 km on a full tank and charged
battery. Highway driving at 120–140 km/h reduces electric range by 20–30% due
to aerodynamic drag.
Home Charging
The T2 i-DM charges
at 6.6 kW via Type 2 AC, taking approximately four hours for the 26.7 kWh
battery and six and a half hours for the 43.2 kWh. At DEWA's residential rate
of AED 0.23/kWh, a full charge costs AED 6.14 (26.7 kWh) or AED 9.94 (43.2
kWh). In Abu Dhabi at the expatriate rate of AED 0.27/kWh, costs are AED 7.21
and AED 11.66 respectively.
Public Fast Charging
DC fast charging
peaks at 41 kW CCS2, reaching 10–80% in approximately 30 minutes. This is
slower than competing PHEVs offering 50–80 kW charging. Compatible UAE networks
include DEWA Green Charger, E2GO (including the E11 Saih Shuaib hub), UAEV
(Northern Emirates), and GreenParking. The T2 i-DM is not compatible with Tesla
Superchargers.

Jetour T2 i-DM — Battery & Charging
Cabin Comfort
Front seats feature
ventilation and memory adjustment across higher trims. A 64-inch panoramic
sunroof floods the cabin with natural light but demands UV tinting in UAE
conditions. The Ultra variant adds a third-row bench, expanding seating to
seven — a rarity in the PHEV SUV segment at this price. Boot space measures 752
litres with the rear seats upright.
Driver Comfort
The elevated SUV
driving position offers confident forward visibility on UAE motorways. The
15.6-inch central touchscreen is the primary control interface, flanked by a
10.25-inch TFT instrument cluster. Steering column adjusts for rake and reach.
Multi-layered soundproof glass reduces cabin noise at highway speeds.
AC Performance
Dual-zone automatic
climate control manages cabin cooling effectively from high ambient
temperatures. Remote pre-cooling via the Jetour app allows cabin conditioning
before entry — essential during UAE summers. Ventilated front seats are
standard on Comfort trims and above. The panoramic sunroof amplifies solar heat
gain; aftermarket tinting is strongly recommended.
Luggage
Boot capacity of 752
litres accommodates weekend luggage comfortably. The 70-litre fuel tank
supports long inter-emirate journeys without range anxiety. No frunk is
available, as the front section houses the hybrid powertrain hardware.
Infotainment
The 15.6-inch
central touchscreen supports Arabic language navigation — a critical
requirement for the UAE market. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
connectivity are standard. The system includes 50W fast wireless phone
charging, L2 intelligent driving assistance integration, and over-the-air
software update capability.
Safety
Six airbags are
standard across all trims. The ADAS suite includes AEB, adaptive cruise
control, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and
a 540-degree panoramic camera system. The Jetour T2 platform achieved a
five-star ASEAN NCAP rating with 86.5 points. Euro NCAP testing has not been
completed at the time of writing.
How Does it Drive?
Electric torque
delivery from standstill makes urban driving effortless. The three-speed DHT
transmission manages the transition between electric and hybrid modes smoothly
under moderate throttle. Forward visibility from the elevated driving position
is strong; the 540-degree camera system compensates for limited rear-quarter
sightlines.
Performance
The 4WD variants
sprint to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds — rapid for a mid-size SUV weighing over two
tonnes. FWD variants manage 7.5 seconds, adequate for confident motorway
merging. Top speed is electronically limited to 190 km/h. The petrol engine
contributes under hard acceleration but retreats to a generator role at
cruising speeds.
Braking
Regenerative braking
recovers energy during deceleration, extending electric range in stop-start
urban traffic. The 100–0 km/h braking distance of 36.4 metres is competitive
for the segment. Ventilated front discs provide consistent pedal feel across
driving modes.
Autopilot
L2 intelligent
driving assistance includes adaptive cruise with stop-and-go functionality,
suitable for E11 and Sheikh Zayed Road commuting. Lane centring operates on
well-marked motorways but requires driver input on older road surfaces. No
Level 3 autonomy is offered.
Handling
McPherson front and
multi-link rear suspension provide controlled body roll through motorway
curves. The 2,800 mm wheelbase delivers stability at speed. Multi-storey car
park access is manageable given the 1,875 mm height. The 540-degree camera and
parking sensors assist in tight urban manoeuvres.
Ride
Over the UAE's
predominantly smooth urban roads, the T2 i-DM rides with composed damping. The
independent multi-link rear maintains passenger comfort over expansion joints
and speed bumps. 255/55 R20 tyres offer a good balance between comfort and
grip.
Off-Road
Seven driving modes
— Economy, Standard, Snow, Mud, Sand, Rock, and X — cover a wide range of
terrain. Ground clearance of 200 mm and a wading depth of 700 mm support
confident wadi crossings. Approach and departure angles of 28° and 30°
respectively are competitive for the class. The 4WD variants add a rear
differential lock for demanding desert conditions.
Elite Cars — Warranty and Service
Elite Cars (Elite
Group Holding) is the exclusive authorised Jetour distributor in the UAE, with
showrooms and service centres in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The vehicle warranty is
six years or 150,000 km, with an eight-year or 160,000 km battery warranty. A complimentary
service contract covers the first three years or 30,000 km. As a relatively new
brand in the UAE, service network density is limited compared to established
competitors — parts availability outside Dubai and Abu Dhabi may require lead
time.
Grey Import vs Official Dealer
Grey import T2 i-DM
units typically lack UAE-specific software calibration, Arabic navigation, and
regional thermal management routines. Insurance loading for grey imports is
15–25% above standard premiums, and some insurers decline PHEV grey imports entirely.
Government incentives — free Salik tag, green parking, reduced registration
fees — apply to official agency vehicles only. The hybrid high-voltage system
requires manufacturer-certified tooling inaccessible to grey import owners
through Elite Cars' network.
Cost of Ownership
At AED 139,000, the
T2 i-DM Standard undercuts most PHEV SUV competitors in the UAE by a meaningful
margin. For a buyer covering 20,000 km per year with a home wall box, annual
electricity cost for commuting on electric mode is estimated at AED 1,200–1,800
(depending on battery variant), versus AED 8,000–12,000 for a comparable petrol
SUV. Combined running cost savings are estimated at AED 5,000–8,000 per year.
Insurance estimates
through official UAE channels range from AED 7,000 to AED 10,000 annually. The
complimentary three-year service contract reduces early ownership costs. PHEV
servicing includes petrol engine maintenance alongside EV system checks. Government
incentives include a free Salik tag (toll charges of AED 4–6 per gate still
apply), green parking bay access with a four-hour session limit, and reduced
RTA registration fees.
Depreciation risk is
elevated. Jetour is a first-generation presence in the UAE with limited brand
recognition and a developing resale market. LFP battery chemistry provides
thermal stability and resists capacity fade in hot climates, which supports
long-term battery health. Three-year resale is estimated at 45–55% of purchase
price — below established Japanese and Korean competitors but potentially
improving as the brand matures.
