2025 Jaguar I-PACE Review UAE

Battery Spec
The I-PACE uses a 90 kWh (84.7 kWh usable) NMC battery supplied by LG Chem in pouch-cell format, liquid-cooled and mounted beneath the cabin floor. The 400V architecture was competitive in 2018 but is now outpaced by 800V and 926V systems from newer competitors. The 432-cell pack delivers adequate thermal stability for UAE conditions, though real-world charging speeds are sensitive to battery temperature — a cold battery may charge at only 19–50 kW rather than the 104 kW maximum.
Real-World Range
WLTP figures range from 470 km on 18-inch wheels (S trim) to 408 km on larger 20-inch or 22-inch wheels (SE, HSE). The range reduction from wheel size alone is approximately 13%. Applying the standard 15–25% UAE reduction for motorway speeds, AC load, and ambient heat, real-world estimates are 355–400 km for the S and 305–345 km for the HSE. The Abu Dhabi–Dubai single leg is comfortable; round trips may require a charging stop depending on driving style and summer AC load.
Home Charging
The I-PACE charges via an 11 kW Type 2 AC onboard charger, reaching full in approximately 8.6 hours — suitable for overnight charging. On a single-phase 7.4 kW supply, the charge extends to approximately 10 hours. At DEWA's residential rate of AED 0.23/kWh, a full charge costs approximately AED 19.48. In Abu Dhabi at the expatriate ADDC rate of AED 0.27/kWh, the cost is AED 22.87.
Public Fast Charging
DC fast charging peaks at 104 kW via CCS2 — the I-PACE's most significant limitation in 2025. A 10–80% charge takes approximately 45 minutes, versus 15–27 minutes on newer competitors. Real-world DC speeds are heavily temperature-dependent; a pre-conditioned battery on a warm day achieves the best results. Compatible UAE networks: DEWA Green Charger, E2GO (ADNOC/TAQA), Tesla Supercharger (CCS2 access), UAEV, and GreenParking. The I-PACE does not benefit from chargers rated above 104 kW. 2025 Jaguar I-PACE — Battery & Charging
Cabin Comfort
The I-PACE seats five with leather Sport Seats as standard, upgraded to Windsor leather with heating and ventilation on the HSE. The 2,990 mm wheelbase provides good rear legroom for a vehicle of this length. Material quality reflects Jaguar's premium positioning — leather, aluminium, and soft-touch surfaces throughout. The cab-forward design creates an airy, spacious feel from the front seats.
Driver Comfort
The Pivi Pro infotainment system spans three screens: a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10-inch central touchscreen, and a 5.5-inch lower climate display. Head-up display is standard on the HSE. The driving position is lower than typical SUVs — closer to a sports car — contributing to the I-PACE's engaging driving character. The steering column adjusts for rake and reach.
AC Performance
Dual-zone climate control is standard, upgraded to four-zone on the HSE. The system cools the cabin effectively, though the panoramic glass roof benefits from aftermarket tinting for maximum solar protection. Remote pre-cooling via the Jaguar app is supported. Ventilated front seats on the HSE are a meaningful comfort advantage in UAE summer conditions.
Luggage
The 505-litre boot is competitive for the segment. Rear seats fold to expand capacity to approximately 1,163 litres. A 27-litre frunk beneath the bonnet accommodates the charging cable. The powered tailgate is standard from the SE trim upward. The boot floor is flat with a wide opening.
Infotainment
Pivi Pro delivers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, built-in EV navigation with live charging station availability, and over-the-air software updates. Arabic language support is expected on GCC-spec units through Al Tayer Motors. The Meridian sound system is standard from the SE trim, upgraded to Meridian Surround on the HSE. The system is responsive and well-designed, though the dual-screen layout feels a generation behind single-panel displays from newer competitors.
Safety
Six airbags are fitted, including front, side, and curtain protection. The ADAS suite includes AEB with pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane departure warning, lane-keep assist, blind-spot detection, and rear cross-traffic alert. Adaptive cruise with steering assist and a 360-degree surround camera are available on SE and HSE trims. An active deployable bonnet provides pedestrian protection. Euro NCAP awarded five stars with 91% adult occupant protection — among the highest scores in its testing year.
How Does it Drive?
This is where the I-PACE continues to justify attention. The dual-motor AWD system delivers 400 hp with a fluidity and precision that few electric SUVs match. Jaguar's chassis engineering — honed through decades of sports car development — gives the I-PACE a character distinctly different from the competent-but-neutral handling of most competitors. The low centre of gravity and wide track create genuine driving enjoyment.
Performance
The 0–100 km/h sprint in 4.8 seconds with 696 Nm of torque is rapid and consistent. Top speed is limited to 200 km/h. The dual motors provide balanced AWD traction in all conditions. Overtaking at motorway speeds is decisive and immediate. While newer competitors now match or exceed these figures, the I-PACE's delivery remains among the most engaging in the segment.
Braking
Regenerative braking is adjustable with a dedicated button for high-regen mode. The system provides strong deceleration and meaningful energy recovery. One-pedal driving is possible in high-regen mode. Conventional brakes complement the system effectively. Brake pedal feel is linear and confidence-inspiring.
Autopilot
Adaptive cruise with steering assist is available on SE and HSE trims. The system handles well-marked UAE motorways competently, maintaining lane position and managing stop-and-go traffic. It is a Level 2 system requiring continuous driver supervision. The ADAS capability is adequate but not class-leading — newer competitors offer more advanced highway assist with LiDAR and automated lane changes.
Handling
Double-wishbone front and multi-link rear suspension — with optional electronic air suspension and adaptive damping on the HSE — deliver the I-PACE's standout driving quality. Turn-in is sharp and responsive, body roll is well-controlled, and the chassis communicates road surface detail with clarity unusual for an EV. The air suspension raises ground clearance to 230 mm in off-road mode — adequate for light unpaved surfaces. The 4,682 mm length and wide body require attention in tighter multi-storey car parks.
Ride
On coil springs (S and SE), the ride is firm and sporty — comfortable over smooth UAE roads but transmitting more impact over speed bumps and expansion joints. The air suspension on the HSE softens the ride materially, absorbing imperfections with greater refinement. For UAE buyers prioritising comfort, the HSE with air suspension is the variant to select. Ground clearance on standard coil springs is 174 mm — adequate for urban roads.
Trim Levels and Pricing
Range variation is primarily due to wheel size: 18" (S) vs 20" (SE/HSE) vs 22" (optional). Larger wheels reduce WLTP range by up to 13%.
Warranty and After-Sales
Al Tayer Motors covers the I-PACE with a five-year or 150,000 km vehicle warranty, five-year roadside assistance, and an eight-year or 160,000 km battery warranty with a 70% capacity retention guarantee. Current promotional offers include a complimentary home EV charging unit (installation costs excluded) and ceramic coating. As a discontinued model, long-term parts availability should be considered — though Jaguar has committed to supporting existing I-PACE owners through its global service network. Annual BEV servicing is estimated at AED 2,500–4,000.
Grey Import vs Official Dealer
Grey import I-PACE units may use CCS1 (North American spec) charging plugs, lack Arabic language support, and miss GCC-specific software calibrations. With production ended, buying through official channels ensures the five-year warranty, eight-year battery coverage, and access to Al Tayer's established service network — guarantees that become more valuable as the model ages. Insurance on grey imports attracts 15–25% loading. Government EV incentives apply to officially registered vehicles only.
Cost of Ownership
At AED 368,760, the I-PACE competes with the BMW iX xDrive40, Mercedes EQB, and the significantly newer Lucid Gravity Touring. For a buyer covering 20,000 km per year with a home wall box, annual electricity cost is estimated at AED 1,300–1,800. The 104 kW DC charging limit means public fast-charging sessions take approximately twice as long as comparable competitors — a practical consideration for buyers without home charging. Insurance estimates range from AED 18,000 to AED 25,000 annually. Annual BEV servicing through Al Tayer is estimated at AED 2,500–4,000. Government incentives include a free Salik tag (toll charges of AED 4–6 per gate still apply), green parking bay access with a four-hour session limit, and reduced RTA registration fees. Towing capacity is limited to 750 kg — below most competitors. Depreciation risk is high. The I-PACE's discontinuation, dated charging technology, and increasing competition from newer EVs with superior range and faster charging all weigh on residual values. Three-year resale is estimated at 40–50% of purchase price — below the segment average. However, the five-year warranty and Al Tayer's service commitment provide a safety net. Buyers should negotiate aggressively on remaining dealer stock — meaningful discounts are likely given the model's end-of-life status. 2025 Jaguar I-PACE — Standard Equipment
