2025 Audi e-tron GT Review UAE
Battery Spec
Both variants use a
93.4 kWh gross (approximately 83.7 kWh usable) lithium-ion NMC battery with an
800-volt architecture. The pack sits beneath the floor, lowering the centre of
gravity and enabling the GT's 1,396 mm roofline. Audi's battery management system
includes liquid thermal conditioning to manage cell temperature in extreme
heat.
Real-World Range
Under WLTP testing,
the GT quattro returns 458–501 km and the RS achieves 433–472 km depending on
wheel and tyre selection. In UAE summer conditions with sustained AC use at
45°C, expect a 20–25% reduction — roughly 345–400 km for the GT and 325–375 km
for the RS. Highway cruising at 120–140 km/h will sit closer to the lower end
of those estimates, while city driving in cooler months could approach WLTP
figures.
Home Charging
On a standard 11 kW
villa wall box, a 0–100% charge takes approximately nine to ten hours — ideal
for overnight replenishment. A full home charge costs around AED 19.25 using
DEWA's residential rate of AED 0.23/kWh in Dubai, or AED 22.60 at the Abu Dhabi
ADDC expatriate rate of AED 0.27/kWh.
Public Fast Charging
The 800-volt
architecture supports DC fast charging up to 270 kW via CCS2, with 10–80%
achieved in roughly 22 minutes at a compatible high-power charger. UAE networks
including DEWA Green Charger, E2GO (ADNOC/TAQA), and UAEV stations all support
CCS2. Tesla Supercharger access requires a CCS adapter and may be limited to
specific locations. The e-tron GT's peak charge rate exceeds most public UAE
chargers currently capped at 150 kW, so real-world DC times will typically be
30–35 minutes.

Audi e-tron GT — Battery & Charging
Cabin Comfort
The e-tron GT is a
strict four-seater with individual rear bucket seats. Rear headroom is limited
by the sloping roofline — passengers above 180 cm may find it tight. Rear
legroom is adequate for two adults on shorter journeys. The cabin is trimmed in
microfibre and leather, with soft-touch surfaces throughout and generous
under-arm storage in the centre console.
Driver Comfort
The driving position
is low and sports-car-like, with generous electric seat adjustment including
lumbar support and memory. Steering adjusts for rake and reach, and forward
visibility is good despite the low seating. The RS variant adds pneumatically
adjustable side bolsters that tighten during spirited driving.
AC Performance
Three-zone automatic
climate control is standard. Remote pre-conditioning through the myAudi app
allows cabin cool-down before entry — essential during UAE summers. Ventilated
front seats are available but not standard on all trims — buyers should confirm
specification. The panoramic glass roof admits significant heat; factory
tinting or aftermarket UV film is strongly recommended.
Luggage
The rear boot holds
405 litres — competitive but not class-leading for a car of this length. The
front trunk adds 81 litres, useful for charging cables or a small carry-on.
Rear seats do not fold flat, so bulky items require careful planning.
Infotainment
A 12.3-inch Audi
Virtual Cockpit sits ahead of the driver, paired with a 10.1-inch MMI touch
response infotainment display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are
standard. Arabic language support is available through the MMI system.
Navigation includes charging-route planning that factors in battery state. A
16-speaker Bang & Olufsen 3D Sound system is standard, delivering immersive
audio quality.
Safety
Standard safety
equipment includes Audi Pre Sense front and rear, autonomous emergency braking,
a 360-degree camera system, cross-traffic alert, and blind-spot monitoring. The
e-tron GT has not been independently crash-tested by Euro NCAP, but it shares its
J1 platform with the Porsche Taycan, which achieved a five-star rating. Ten
airbags are standard across both variants.
How Does it Drive?
The e-tron GT
delivers a composed, planted driving experience. The low centre of gravity and
near-50/50 weight distribution create confidence from the first corner.
Visibility from the cockpit is reasonable, though the thick C-pillars require
reliance on sensors when reversing.
Performance
The GT quattro's 530
hp provides effortless highway overtaking, while the RS variant's 646 hp and
3.3-second sprint make it one of the fastest sedans available in the UAE. At
120 km/h on Sheikh Zayed Road, wind noise is well suppressed thanks to frameless
double-glazed windows. Road roar from the wide tyres is the primary cabin
intrusion at speed.
Braking
Regenerative braking
is adjustable via steering-wheel paddles, offering three levels of
recuperation. True one-pedal driving with a full stop is available in the
strongest setting. The standard steel brakes (carbon-ceramic optional on RS)
provide confident stopping power with progressive pedal feel.
Autopilot
Adaptive cruise
assist combines adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, traffic-jam assist,
and active lane guidance. The system handles the Dubai–Abu Dhabi E11 commute
capably, maintaining lane position and safe following distance. It remains a
Level 2 system requiring driver supervision at all times.
Handling
Adaptive air
suspension with electronically controlled dampers is standard. High-speed
cornering grip is excellent, aided by the optional rear-axle steering that
tightens the turning circle to 10.9 metres for mall car parks and multi-storey
structures. Low-speed manoeuvrability is acceptable for a 4,989 mm sedan,
assisted by comprehensive parking sensors and the 360-degree camera.
Ride
In Comfort mode the
air suspension absorbs UAE road imperfections effectively, delivering a supple
ride quality. Body control remains taut even over speed bumps. Passengers
report minimal fatigue on longer journeys, though the firm sport seats may not
suit all preferences over extended distances.
Warranty and After-Sales
Audi is distributed
in the UAE by Al Nabooda Automobiles (Dubai and Northern Emirates) and Ali
& Sons (Abu Dhabi). Both are long-established, mature dealer networks with
multiple service centres across the country. The standard vehicle warranty is
three years, extendable to five. The high-voltage battery carries an eight-year
/ 160,000 km warranty. Parts availability is strong given Audi's established
UAE presence, though e-tron GT–specific components may require short lead
times.
Grey Import vs Official Dealer
Grey-imported e-tron
GT models — often sourced from Europe or the US — carry significant risk in the
UAE. These vehicles receive no official Audi manufacturer warranty, may run
incompatible regional software, and are ineligible for UAE government EV incentives.
Insurance premiums on grey imports are typically 15–25% higher. The e-tron GT's
high-voltage 800V system requires Audi-certified tooling inaccessible to grey
import owners through the official network.
Cost of Ownership
At AED 489,900 for
the GT quattro, the e-tron GT sits in premium territory alongside the BMW i5
M60 and Mercedes EQE 53 AMG. A full home charge on DEWA's AED 0.23/kWh rate
costs roughly AED 19.25, translating to approximately AED 0.05 per kilometre —
a fraction of the AED 0.32/km a comparable petrol GT would consume. Based on
20,000 km annually, electricity costs approximately AED 1,000 per year in Dubai
versus AED 6,400 for a petrol equivalent, yielding annual savings of around AED
5,400.
Insurance for the GT
quattro runs approximately AED 14,700–19,600 per year (3–4% of value). EV
servicing is less frequent than ICE equivalents — no oil changes, longer
brake-pad life — with annual service costs estimated at AED 2,500–3,500. UAE
government incentives include a free Salik tag (toll charges of AED 4–6 per
gate still apply), access to designated green parking bays with a four-hour
limit, and reduced RTA registration fees.
Depreciation is a
consideration: the e-tron GT is an established model rather than a
first-generation experiment, which supports residual values. However, rapid EV
technology advancement means buyers should expect steeper depreciation than
Audi's ICE equivalents, particularly in the first three years. The RS variant's
higher entry price amplifies this risk.
