2025 AITO M7 Review UAE
Battery Spec
Two battery options
serve the M7 lineup. The Base variants use a 37 kWh lithium iron phosphate
(LFP) pack delivering approximately 140–160 km of WLTP electric range. Long
Range models upgrade to a 53.4 kWh nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) unit pushing
electric-only WLTP range to roughly 250–280 km. All variants carry a 60-litre
fuel tank feeding the 1.5-litre turbo range extender.
Real-World Range
In UAE summer
conditions with sustained air-conditioning use, expect a 20–25% reduction from
WLTP figures. The Base LFP pack realistically delivers 105–130 km on
electricity alone, sufficient for most daily commutes within Dubai or Abu
Dhabi. The Long Range NMC variant should manage 190–225 km in summer,
comfortably covering a return Dubai–Abu Dhabi run on electric power.
Home Charging
On a standard 7 kW
villa wall box, the 37 kWh Base charges from flat to full in approximately six
hours. The 53.4 kWh Long Range requires roughly seven hours. A full home charge
on DEWA's green slab (AED 0.23/kWh) costs approximately AED 8.50 for the Base
and AED 12.30 for the Long Range pack.
Public Fast Charging
The M7's DC charging
port uses the Chinese GB/T standard, rated at approximately 40 kW. A CCS2
adapter is required for UAE public networks including DEWA Green Charger, E2GO,
and UAEV stations. The 10–80% DC charge takes roughly 30–40 minutes. Tesla Superchargers
are not compatible. The relatively modest 40 kW DC speed means the M7 is best
suited to home or workplace AC charging rather than relying on public
fast-charger corridors.

AITO M7 — Battery & Charging
Cabin Comfort
The M7's 2+2+2
six-seat layout delivers genuine passenger space across all three rows.
Second-row captain's chairs recline and slide, offering generous legroom and
individual armrests. Third-row access is manageable for children and shorter
adults, though legroom tightens for taller occupants on longer journeys.
Material quality is above average, with soft-touch surfaces and Nappa leather
upholstery on higher trims.
Driver Comfort
The driving position
sits high with a clear forward view, aided by a slim A-pillar design. The
powered driver's seat offers multi-directional adjustment including lumbar
support. Steering adjusts for both rake and reach. The uncluttered dashboard
design, with most controls routed through the central touchscreen, keeps the
cockpit clean and intuitive.
AC Performance
A dual-zone
automatic climate system serves front occupants, with rear vents for second-
and third-row passengers. Remote pre-cooling is available through the Huawei
HiCar app, essential for midday UAE parking situations. Ventilated front seats
are standard on higher trims. The panoramic sunroof, while visually appealing,
benefits from aftermarket UV-rejection tinting in the Gulf climate to reduce
cabin heat soak.
Luggage
With all six seats
in use, the M7 offers approximately 686 litres of boot space — competitive for
the segment. Folding the third row expands capacity to roughly 1,619 litres,
enough for airport luggage runs or weekend camping gear. No frunk is available,
as the engine bay houses the range-extender motor.
Infotainment
Huawei's HarmonyOS
powers a 15.6-inch central OLED touchscreen with fluid response times and deep
integration with Huawei smartphones. Arabic language support is available in
the infotainment system. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are not natively supported;
Huawei's ecosystem prioritises its own app suite. Over-the-air updates keep the
software current. A head-up display projects speed and navigation data onto the
windscreen.
Safety
The M7 has not been
tested by Euro NCAP. Standard active safety includes adaptive cruise control
with stop-and-go, autonomous emergency braking (AEB), lane-keep assist,
blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and a 360-degree surround-view
camera system. Eight airbags are fitted across all variants. Battery pack
safety includes multi-layer thermal management, though independent
nail-penetration test data is not publicly available for this model.
How Does it Drive?
In electric mode,
the M7 drives like a full battery-electric vehicle — smooth, quiet, and
responsive. The range extender activates seamlessly at low battery levels,
though some vibration is perceptible during sustained highway cruising when the
1.5-litre petrol engine is working at higher loads. Visibility is good from the
elevated driving position, with slim pillars aiding junction awareness.
Performance
AWD variants deliver
genuine performance, hitting 100 km/h in approximately 4.8 seconds with 449 hp
and 660 Nm of torque. RWD Base models are more relaxed at 7.8 seconds but
remain confident for highway merging on Sheikh Zayed Road and the E11 corridor.
Wind noise is well managed up to 120 km/h, though tyre roar becomes noticeable
on coarser UAE asphalt surfaces at higher speeds.
Braking
Regenerative braking
offers adjustable levels through paddle shifters, feeding energy back to the
battery. One-pedal driving is available in the strongest regeneration setting.
Brake pedal feel is progressive and confidence-inspiring under hard braking, with
no unexpected pedal travel.
Autopilot
Huawei's Advanced
Driving System (ADS) provides Level 2 driver assistance, including adaptive
cruise with stop-and-go functionality, lane centring, and automated lane
changes on mapped highways. The system uses lidar, radar, and camera fusion.
UAE road mapping for ADS features may be limited at launch, restricting some
advanced functions to basic cruise and lane-keep.
Handling
The M7's low centre
of gravity — courtesy of the floor-mounted battery — provides confident
cornering stability. Low-speed manoeuvrability is aided by the 360-degree
camera and front/rear parking sensors. At 4,930 mm long, the M7 fits
comfortably in standard UAE multi-storey car park bays, though tighter basement
ramps require care given its 1,970 mm width.
Ride
The suspension
delivers a composed, comfort-biased ride that absorbs most UAE road
imperfections. Speed bumps are dispatched without harshness, and high-speed
highway cruising feels settled and refined. The considerable kerb weight (up to
2,440 kg in AWD guise) helps plant the car on uneven surfaces, though it does
load the tyres more heavily in sustained cornering.
Warranty and After-Sales
Performance Plus
Motors, part of the Abu Dhabi Motors Group, became the official AITO
distributor in the UAE from February 2026. The dealership operates from Abu
Dhabi with plans for Dubai expansion. Vehicle warranty is confirmed at four
years or 100,000 km. Battery warranty terms have not been publicly confirmed —
prospective buyers should request written battery coverage details before
purchase. Parts availability is limited given the brand's recent arrival; early
adopters should factor potential wait times for non-consumable components.
Grey Import vs Official Dealer
Prior to official
distribution, the M7 entered the UAE as the "Seres 7" through grey
importers such as Green Motors. Grey-imported units carry no official warranty,
no guaranteed battery coverage, and may run Chinese-market software without Arabic
or English language optimisation. Insurance premiums for grey imports typically
attract a 15–25% loading. UAE government EV incentives — including the free
Salik tag and reduced registration fees — may not apply to non-officially
imported vehicles.
Cost of Ownership
Purchase prices
range from approximately AED 145,000 for the RWD Base to AED 240,000 for the
AWD Long Range. A full home charge on DEWA's green slab costs AED 8.50 (Base)
to AED 12.30 (Long Range). At an average efficiency of 18 kWh/100 km in
electric mode, the running cost is roughly AED 0.041 per km — compared to AED
0.35–0.40 per km for a comparable 2.0-litre turbo petrol SUV. Over 20,000 km
per year, annual electricity cost is approximately AED 820 versus AED
7,000–8,000 in petrol, saving around AED 6,000–7,000 annually.
Insurance for a new
AITO M7 through an official channel is estimated at AED 4,500–7,000 per year
depending on the variant and driver profile. Servicing costs for EREVs are
lower than pure petrol equivalents but higher than full BEVs, as the
range-extender engine requires periodic oil and filter changes alongside the
electric drivetrain's minimal service needs.
Depreciation risk is
elevated. AITO is a new brand in the UAE with no established resale market.
First-generation models from unfamiliar marques typically experience steeper
depreciation than established competitors like Toyota or BMW. Buyers should
budget for 40–50% value loss over three years. Government incentives — a free
Salik tag (tolls still apply at AED 4–6 per gate), designated green parking
bays (four-hour limit), and reduced RTA registration fees — help offset running
costs modestly.
